A simple answer. The woman wouldn’t press it any more, the geiko smiled warmly, “I am an artist, a performer, and a companion. I am a geiko. This is where we live in this lovely okiya.”

“Ah, that makes sense then!” Yes, for the period and considering the title. “I suppose I’m too old for an occupation like that, huh?” They were trained from childhood, weren’t they? That was okay, though. She tried not to make any long-term choices…
He sighed softly. Perhaps she really could take care of herself. Then again, maybe she was like Chizuru. He nodded to her, motioning to the path, “Come, then. I want to leave this place before they return.”
He ushered her along the path between buildings, finally coming out alongside the river. He relaxed, feeling more comfortable here - though if it was the sound of the running water or the blossoming cherry trees, no one could really know. He relaxed his pace, letting his stride shorten until he was walking casually once more. His head tilted back a bit, staring up at the trees as he walked, “Why do you even follow me? What point is there to it? There is nothing you can hope to gain from me.”
Well she’d happily spar with him if it would set him at ease! Though, she was certain that idea wouldn’t fly, and well. Nah, that was a bad idea in general, she wasn’t even going to think of mentioning it. So, instead she just let him lead her along.

She walked alongside him, seeming nothing short of content up until he spoke. He considered his words with a tilted head that gave her a rather adorable inquisitive look. “What…. is the point?” she shrugged her shoulders like she hadn’t even considered the idea.
“Does there have to be a point? I’m not looking for anything to gain.. I just didn’t really want to walk alone. I’m not from here, so it seemed like a good idea to find someone who… didn’t look lost.”
She laced her fingers behind her head, turning her attention forward again. “Like I said, I don’t want to burden you, I am sure I can find someone else to walk with. Oh…”

It just struck her, “I haven’t even introduced myself, have I? My name is Kureha.”
Being someone from such a period, she lift a brow towards Kureha before chuckling, “Where are you from, Kureha?” she questioned. However, the woman can bestow her one—just along as she cherished it.
Where was she from? Ah that was always the question. Usually she made something up easily but she was a little dazed here, still.

“Ah, here and there, nowhere important, trust me. What is it you do here?” the less the conversation stayed on her, the better.
After a moment, things seemed to calm down. Hell, if this was calm. People stared at him from across the street. Lovely. Now he just had to get out of this position without anything happening. He glanced behind him as she spoke, his eyes narrowing a bit.
[“Interesting friends you seem to have…”]
“Those were not friends. What makes you think they were?” His eyes narrowed further, hand moving to sheath his sword. He turned to her, the wind catching the strands of his hair. “I do not understand what you consider friends, but those were not friends. I am afraid that if you stay with me, you are likely to be hurt. Perhaps it is best you leave and go on your way.”
That would be for the best for both of them, though he doubted she would pay any attention to his words. One hand lifted, brushing his blowing bangs from his eyes. He turned again, crossing the alley between houses and made his way to another street. There, he paused, glancing back at her. Part of him enjoyed her company, but he was too shy to say that, and another part of him also knew it was dangerous for her to be around him - so he wouldn’t encourage her to follow. If she did… it was her own choice.

“I was…. I was trying to be funny….” she laughed sheepishly and scratched at the back of her head. Apparently her sense of humor was not well received by this one. That was okay, she could work with that.
“And, I’m sure,” considering the time period and location, “I don’t seem like much, but I’m entirely capable of taking care of myself. So you don’t have to worry about me.” she gave him what she hoped was a reassurring smile and nod. “However I have no intentions of overburdening you. I was just hoping maybe I could familiarize myself with the area, and well… walking with someone who knew where they were going seemed like a better idea than… wandering aimlessly…”

“But if you’d rather we went our separate ways, I’ll oblige!”
She wasn’t going to mention she had nowhere to go, though. She didn’t need him worrying about her.
Kureha and Kotoha. Oh wow, their names almost sound alike. The geiko smiled while she was in her normal attire of a simple kimono, “It’s a title given to me to represent my given name of beauty and my ranking.”

“Well that’s fun! I want a fancy title~” she knew little of what gave the geiko such a title, considering she was not from this time period, but it certainly sounded interesting.
Though, now that she thought about it… she was pretty sure she had earned some titles through her life.
Hm, this woman had a good eye as well. “You, your self. My name is Konkikyo of Gion.” Granted she won’t introduce herself as Kotoha. There was no reason to.

“You can call me Kureha. It’s a pleasure to meet you Konkikyo of Gion. What a title, sounds quite impressive!”
- lucky-disaster started following you
It seems this woman was following her now. The geiko dipped her head, “Greetings.”

“Hello~ You seem like a woman who can handle herself. We should get along fine then.” The redhead bowed politely.

“Ooh another one! I don’t think we’ve been properly introduced either, but I’ve got a pretty good idea about you from the grumpy one…”

“Well dear, I don’t believe we’ve even met! This will have to change.”
